76th Annual Dogwood Festival!

Tuesday, February 7th, 2012

It’s hard to believe that this time last year it was about 20 degrees colder! Now it seems like winter has forgotten to show up. So for those of you who can’t wait for the arrival of spring, you’re in luck! As confirmed by Gen. Beauregard Lee, the season of love is just around the corner. You know what that means…

That’s right! The 76th annual Dogwood Festival held in Piedmont Park!

The festival celebrated its Diamond Anniversary last year, and on April 20-22 this Atlanta staple will yet again fill our city with joy and excitement.

If you’ve never had a chance to experience this incredible three-day event, rest assured that you will be fully entertained by the variety of activities and festivities. Ever since Walter Rich, founder of Rich’s department store, first made the blooming of the Dogwoods an internationally recognized event in 1936, the Dogwood Festival has remained an annual tradition for the city of Atlanta.

There is something for kids and adults of all ages at the Atlanta Dogwood Festival. Explore local food vendors, a kid’s village, canine competitions and the ever-popular artists market. See the local jewelry and have fun in the arts & crafts area. People come from miles away to enjoy the best of what spring brings to the biggest city in the south. For all of the foodies out there, don’t miss out on some of the most delicious local eats. The live entertainment might be the best part of all. The Dogwood Festival never fails to showcase the best artists in the southeast.
